The Cheshire Cat was the bar in the Finis Hotel, named after the Cheshire Cat, the fictional character from Alice's Adventure's in Wonderland. Above the door was a red neon cat sitting in a green neon tree. Every few minutes the cat flickered and disappeared, leaving only a grin, before reappearing again. There was a piano there, which Holroyd Wilson, the famous Swindon-born pianist, played on at least one occasion.
